Meet Mandi

Mandi Keighran is a London-based freelance writer, editor and copywriter specialising in design, travel and culture. With a career spanning 15 years and some of the world’s leading publications, she has built a reputation for crafting immersive narratives that transport readers – whether uncovering hidden corners of the globe or delving into the creative minds shaping contemporary design.

Formerly the Editor of Oryx, Qatar Airways’ inflight magazine, Mandi has also served as Deputy Editor of N by Norwegian, Editor of Indesign Australia, and Design Editor of ICON, giving her a deep understanding of design, architecture, luxury, and global storytelling. She has explored destinations from Svalbard to Sydney, interviewed celebrity chefs, astronauts, and 97-year-old daredevils, and has twice been shortlisted for Consumer Writer of the Year at the Travel Media Awards.

As a design writer, she has covered major architectural and interior projects, profiled the world’s foremost designers and architects, and reported from leading global design fairs. Her work also extends beyond journalism, encompassing creative copywriting, editing, and brand consulting. In these roles, she has collaborated with clients including Sotheby’s International Realty, Qatar Museums, and award-winning design studios to produce compelling brand storytelling across multiple platforms. From editorial features and books to press materials and tone-of-voice development, her expertise brings brands and stories to life.

Mandi holds a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Arts (Writing) from UTS. Her work has appeared in Dwell, The Times UK, Icon, Lodestars Anthology, Design Anthology, Habitus, and more.
