Japan Revisited

The Path Less Travelled

Crowded skyscrapers towering over a crush of commuters on neon-lit streets; the snow-capped peak of Mt Fuji rising up from the five lakes; Geishas on the streets of Kyoto; and snow monkeys bathing in hot springs… There are some images of Japan that are so imprinted on our collective consciousness that it is almost impossible to think of the country without seeing them in our mind’s eye. Yet there is so much more to Japan than the images that saturate our social media feeds. And, it’s this idea that inspired Tokyo-based, British photographer Ben Richards to create Views from Japan, a travel book that celebrates the lesser-known areas of Japan.
